Tabbouleh vs. Fattoush: Lebanese Salads

Reserve a table or order a salad — fresh, halal, made from scratch daily.

Tabbouleh vs. Fattoush: Which Lebanese Salad Is for You?

Every Lebanese table has its salads, and the two most famous are tabbouleh and fattoush. They are both bright, fresh, and built on the lemon-and-olive-oil dressings that define our cooking — but they are wonderfully different. At Yalla Beiruty we make both fresh from scratch with no artificial flavoring, coloring, or preservatives, and like everything we serve, they are halal.

You can order either at our Dania Beach location (1104 S Federal Hwy) or our Coconut Creek location (6718 N State Road 7). Here is how to decide which one belongs on your table tonight.

What Is Tabbouleh?

Our Tabouleh Salad is a parsley-forward classic: finely chopped parsley, tomatoes, onions, and cracked wheat, all tossed in our fresh lemon and olive oil dressing. It is herbaceous, light, and zesty — the kind of salad that wakes up your palate. If you love bright, green, citrusy flavors, this is your salad.

What Is Fattoush?

Our Fattouch is heartier and a little tangier. It combines romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions, tossed in a lemon, olive oil, pomegranate juice, and sumac dressing, then enclosed in a pita tarbouch. The crisp lettuce and the pomegranate-sumac dressing give it a satisfying crunch and a sweet-and-sour edge that sets it apart.

How to Choose

Reach for tabbouleh when you want something light and herby to balance a rich grill, and choose fattoush when you want crunch and a bolder, tangier dressing. Honestly, many of our guests order both — they complement each other beautifully alongside hummus and skewers.

Both Are Vegan-Friendly

Tabbouleh and fattoush are both naturally vegan and vegetarian friendly, which makes them a great foundation for a plant-based meal. Add falafel or grilled halloumi and you have a full, wholesome plate that fits right into the Mediterranean diet.
